IMPORTANT NOTICE: the SG Staff Exchange Programmes are currently suspended!
Exchanges for administrative staff are now under the umbrella of the ERASMUS Programme for Administrative Staff. You can find all necessary information here, and all developments and latest calls for applications in the News & Events page of the project.
SG STAFF EXCHANGE PROGRAMME The SG Group has also established an internal Staff Exchange Programme. The main objective of this initiative is to promote and increase staff mobility within the Santander Group universities. The programme is offered to academic as well as administrative staff. The participants are given an opportunity to pay short visits (up to one week during the academic year) to foreign SG members universities. The Santander Group provides the beneficiaries with financial support for travel and subsistence costs of the visit.
The SG Group is convinced that it is very essential, that university staff visit other European universities, get acquainted with different work environments and meet their colleagues involved in the same administrative matters or research areas. To be able to visit a partner university during a week’s time is a valuable, enriching experience. For an administrator it is an opportunity to feel part of the foreign university team and to get a better understanding of working practices at hosting institution. It is an outstanding opportunity to exchange information about administrative organization: structure, documentation, priorities, projects and new technologies of project management.
As far as lecturers or other members of academic staff are concerned, the visits allow them to access to the research material, latest foreign literature and methodology used at a foreign university. Furthermore, this kind of visits, in long term perspective, contribute to the intensification of cooperation between sending and hosting universities. We know that personal contact in the international cooperation is priceless. It is also a splendid occasion to enjoy social experiences which enable the participants to gain a better understanding of way of life in a foreign country.
The objects of each visit are clearly defined and the participants undertake tasks to carry out. They are provided by the facilities, material and information indispensable for their work. The participants should be assigned with tutors, whose responsibility is to guide them at the hosting university and help to orientate in a new environment. FINANCIAL SUPPORT The Santander Group subventions up to 8 visits a year with the amount of 500 EURO each. This subvention is to help with travel and subsistence costs. The beneficiaries may use other sources of funding as a supplement. The lists of selected applicants of all previous SG Staff Exchanges are available hereafter:
