SGroup European Universities’ Network
Liaison Officers Meeting 2015
5th November 2015
Enhancing the impact of international strategies through professionalization of staff and services
Internationalisation of higher education has played a central role at universities across the world over the past years. The process proved particularly effective with regards to the development of partnerships, outgoing student mobility, teaching in English, attraction of international students and new staff mobility opportunities (EUA 2013)1 . Continuously increasing academic mobility has led to further professionalization of mobility related services. However, internationalisation in its broad definition is an all-encompassing concept aimed at guaranteeing international experience to all university students and academic community without a mobility element. This gave the beginning to Internationalisation at Home understood as a process permeating all functions and delivery of university mission e.g. teaching/learning and research.
The Liaison Officers Meeting 2015 will look into various conditions for successful IaH process and it will provide a platform for exchange of practice and experiences in capacity building and professional staff training from across Europe and other parts of the world. The SGroup Network will investigate opportunities that can enhance the IaH process even more through structured and collaborative approach.
