POLAND, ADAM MICKIEWICZ UNIVERSITY IN POZNÁN - POZNÁN SUMMER SCHOOL OF BIOINFORMATICS - ANALYSIS OF RNAS

Newsletter issue:
Dates: 06/07/2015 – 10/07/2015
Application deadline: 01/07/2015

The 11th edition of the Poznan Summer School of Bioinformatics will cover the analysis of RNA data, including such subjects like next-generation sequencing of transcriptomes (RNA-Seq), small RNAs discovery, long non-coding RNAs as well as secondary and tertiary structures of RNA molecules.

The course is suitable both for beginners and for those who already have some basic knowledge in bioinformatics and find it necessary and interesting to learn more about bioinformatics applications in RNA studies.

The Summer School of Bioinformatics will take place between 6-10 July in Poznán, Poland.

The course consists of lectures and hands-on experience; the combination should fit best participants needs as they have a chance to try out the discussed methods yourselves. The following topics will be covered:
  • Introduction to RNA biology
  • Transcriptome sequencing, assembly and gene expression estimation
  • Small RNAs identification and analysis, including microRNAs
  • Long non-coding RNAs
  • Secondary and tertiary structures of RNAs
